Monument’s Speed Jigsaw Puzzle Event Kicks Off Monthly Series at Trinity Lutheran Church
If you’re a fan of jigsaw puzzles, you’ll be excited to hear about a recent event that brought together puzzle lovers in Monument, Colorado right here at Trinity Lutheran Church. And a big thanks to The Gazette for covering our town’s inaugural speed jigsaw puzzle competition, marking the start of a monthly series designed to engage the community and celebrate the art of puzzling.
According to a recent article from The Gazette, the event attracted participants of all ages, each eager to showcase their skills in assembling puzzles as quickly as possible. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and camaraderie as competitors raced against the clock, all while enjoying the company of fellow puzzle enthusiasts.
“This has been such a fun hobby — one I didn’t know I could succeed at since I always puzzled just for leisure,” said Karen Wells, event coordinator and ambassador for SpeedPuzzling.com. “I’m excited to bring this to Monument and the surrounding community and so grateful for Trinity Lutheran’s support.”
Wells began speed puzzling at a Colorado state event in May 2023 and has since become an advocate. It began gaining popularity in 2019 and surged during the pandemic. Speed puzzling competitions are now held across the U.S., with a national championship set for Washington, D.C., in April, and a world championship hosted annually in Spain.
What makes this event particularly special is its focus on community building. Organizers emphasized the importance of social interaction, creating a space where people can connect over a shared passion. Whether you’re a seasoned puzzler or a newcomer, these monthly gatherings promise to be a fun way to meet others and enjoy a beloved pastime.
The success of the first event has set a positive tone for future competitions. Organizers are hopeful that the series will continue to grow, inviting more participants to join in the fun. It’s a fantastic opportunity for families, friends, and individuals to come together, challenge themselves, and perhaps even discover a new hobby.
If you’re in the Monument area or can make the trip, consider participating in the next speed jigsaw puzzle event. Not only will you have a chance to test your skills, but you’ll also be part of a vibrant community that celebrates the joy of puzzling. Keep an eye out for announcements about upcoming events, and get ready to piece together some fun.
